Roxas joined our crew at just 9 weeks old and is now a lively 1.5-year-old with endless energy and agility. She lives for sprinting full-speed and playing with fellow pups. She’s definitely a velcro dog (and a shameless sock thief), but after a full day of antics, she turns into the best cuddle companion.
Lusin came into my life at 4 months old, adopted from the San Diego Humane Society shortly after I returned from the Peace Corps. Now 6, she was my first furbaby and holds a special place in my heart. Her name means “moon” in Armenian, and it suits her gentle, chill vibe. She tolerates claw trims and tooth brushing like a pro—so long as a Churu is involved. She’s a big fan of birdwatching and loves to chirp back. Her favorite treat? Chicken organs. No competition.
Arev, meaning “sun” in Armenian, was adopted at 3 months old from the ASPCA in Harlem. Now 4, she’s still as snuggly and loving as the day I brought her home. She’s not a fan of belly rubs or tail touches, but she’s always first in line when the auto-feeder kicks in. While she’s a bit more cautious about the great outdoors, she’s slowly embracing sunbathing and birdwatching next to her sister.
